Town Mayors have always played a role in helping a town achieve its goals and with Oakland’s first Chairman A.E. Wells who was elected on April 1881, he surely set the bars high for Chairman’s/Mayor’s to come. Looking back to the first Board at the time Village of Oakland NE C.J Griffin, Board Member / J.S. Lennson, Board Member / H.Stern, Board Member/ J.F Nelson, Marshall / Henry Neuman, Treasurer / C.R. Huntington, Clerk / M.Parkish, Attorney who met every 2nd Tuesday at the Oakland School in town one can see many recognizable last names who have continued to help this town grow and achieve its goals.
Oakland’s current Mayor Dan “Jake” Jacobs has served as Oakland’s Mayor since December 2022. He has served on the City board to this town as Councilman in 2014-2018.
